The Department of Design Strategy strives to train a new type of designer demanded in society, based on the educational philosophy for advanced design held by the Graduate School of Design, Kyushu University. The Department aims to train design strategists who will strategically advance design in business.

The ideal applicant, therefore, will have the following qualifications and characteristics:

*Strong motivation to become a design strategist

*Specialized basic knowledge in design

*High level of interest in the design business, and a desire to take on challenges

*Broad learning, flexible ideas, and deep creativity

*Interest and insight into the shape of future society, and the ability to analyze current conditions

Based on the above, we welcome a wide range of people who have the desire to be design producers or other design strategists, including those with backgrounds in design, graduates of design courses at universities or graduate schools, those in the sciences with a strong interest in design, graduates of liberal arts courses at universities or graduate schools, and mid-career applicants whose work is related to design.
